This rifle is a Meiji 38 (Arisaka) rifle of the type used by the Japanese military from 1905 up to the end of  WW II.  The rifle came from an estate sale and it’s history is unknown.  The rifle appears complete and the wood stock shows considerable wear while the bore is pristine.  There is very minor corrosion on the buttplate and the engraved chrysanthemum is visible on the top of the barrel ahead of the breech.  This is an affordable piece to add to any collection of Axis weaponry.  Photos available upon request.
